CONSTRUCTING Excellence in the North-East has organised an event to help firms to secure new worldwide business.

The event will see the launch of TenderTap - an free online system displaying over 8,000 contract opportunities a week from hundreds of sources around the world including newspapers, web sites, web portals, government bodies and the European Commission.

Speakers include North-East Center of Excellence regional director David Wright, and n-e-life chief executive Norma Foster.

Constructing Excellence regional director Catriona Lingwood said"Since the Rethinking Construction Report of 1998, clients have been encouraged to look at their procurement strategies".

"During the last few months we have worked with the North-East Center of Excellence to develop these strategies and encourage more companies to bid for local authority tenders. This facility is intended to make the region's companies compete on a global level by making them aware of tender opportunities all over the world".
